About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to learn more about the world! Explore and discover the unfamiliar.

ABOUT ME

I'm Aaron, nice to meet you! I'm a pretty mild mannered guy, and I've spent most of my time in the Northwest of the US. I've been on one trip out of the country to Venezuela in my teens, and I've decided to see more of the world while I'm still young. I'm starting fresh, so I figure I have a lot to learn.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not particularly career minded or industrially ambitious. I believe in being compassionate to everyone. Strength in personal relationships and taking care of the people close to you. To me, life is about new discoveries and tranquility, finding joy and meaning in the things you already have.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm very new, so I can't say I've contributed much yet. I hope to change this! While I'm overseas I hope to make some new contacts and start building more of a positive network to work with.

I will gladly cook you dinner or fix your computer, though!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm brand new to this Couchsurfing thing. I'm about to head overseas to greater Europe and I'm hoping to meet some interesting people and learn a bit about local life.

Once I get back and I'm better established at my house, I'd love to host for people visiting. Right now that isn't so much an option, but someday I'll make it happen.

Interests

I'm pretty quiet, so I spend some time with friends playing board games or occasionally going to live music. I like yoga, hiking, dancing and cooking when I'm feeling active. The rest of the time I've been doing some baking and playing music at the house.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like pensive, thoughtful, low budget films. I also like big blockbuster hits with high production value and explosions or superheroes or both.

Similarly, I like slow or quiet music. Blues, folky stuff, indie music. Also shameless pop music and electronica.

I used to read a lot of fiction. Lately I read non-fiction on occasion, but spend less time reading on average. I'll get back to it eventually.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't done enough. I feel like the more I learn, the less I really know about the world.

I think the most amazing thing I've ever seen is someone who struggles through a difficult time, ridicule or doubt to find new strength and meaning in life. This is a small miracle that happens all the time, but it gives me more hope than anything else.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a fair bit about computers and technology, and a little bit about music and the arts. I'll teach anyone whatever I know that they wish to learn, but I feel quite humbled by the vast amount of information I don't have.

I'll learn anything. Anything!
