CURRENT MISSION

To broaden my horizons; try to get an understanding of the history, culture and people that I meet. One day I hope to improve my abysmal spanish and french as I love languages...but was put off learning them whilst at school!

ABOUT ME

I am a 28 year old Nutrition Graduate from England with an American mum. I have worked in a variety of settings in from hospitals to schools to youth centres. I love food and cooking and I feel that it is important way of understanding a culture. I like to keep active doing yoga, football/soccer, tennis and exercise classes although my motivation for this drops in the winter. I learnt to scuba dive in Belize and then did an advanced course in Thailand. I enjoy camping in nature and being away from it all but also like having a few beers with a group of friends or just 1 on 1. I love going to see plays, musicals, watch international movies, museums and art galleries but my attention span sometimes fails me on after a while.

PHILOSOPHY

Giving a friend/partner/family member/colleague/stranger your undivided attention over a meal is a dying art...our social networks make our network antisocial

I want to meet people around the world and find out all about their country, way of life, religion, heritage and beliefs and by reaching out to others in such different situations and with such different lifestyles perhaps this will help (on a small scale) break down the language and geographical barriers that we build up so much.

Interests

My passions are anything sport-related, physical and challenging; food and nutrition; fitness; health; care work (especially with those with physical and mental disabilities); conservation; adrenaline rushes (diving, paragliding etc) and exploring other religions and cultures AND TRAVELLING!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Ruta Maya - took part in half of a 170-mile Canoe Race along the jungle surrounded rivers of Belize from San Ignacio to Belize City
