About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling the summer on the gaycation I've always wanted to take! After a rocky and rough 2015, I'm forcing 2016 to be fun, healthy, and productive...or else!!

ABOUT ME

I'm social, I'm fun, I love the nightlife, and I love meeting interesting people. I'm gay (when you meet me, it'll be obvious). When I meet a new city, my eye is on the fashion, the food, and the men! I love hearing new music, and I'm always willing to cook you some delicious food if you accept the risk I may burn your kitchen down!

PHILOSOPHY

Keep breaking down borders

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I see this website as a souq/bazaar/flea market/mercado where we can swap cultures, languages, recipes, homes, ideologies, couches, beds, showers, knowledge, ideas, takes on society, and area tours!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

every CSer I've brought into my house so far has been wonderful and amazing! I haven't experienced the same personality twice and I hope this is a trend that continues! I took a hefty break from CS when I was married (that ship has sailed!) and with all the bopping around I'm doing this summer, thought I'd give it a go again!

Interests

blues, jazz, two stepping, salsa dancing, cooking, eating, drinking, rock climbing, kayaking, being the butt of my own jokes, traveling in unconventional ways, circuit parties, reading, languages, dancing all night, sleeping late, breakfast tacos, midnight swimming, margaritas on a roof, and of course traveling!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Woody Allen, Guillermo del Toro, Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarrantino. anything Bill Murray has ever done, said, touched, or sat near. Christopher Guest, Roberto Benigni, Pedro Almodovar. anything cheesy or campy, documentaries of most kinds, Latin cinema, Bollywood, golden age cinema

Music: everying, all of it, every last bit. I couldn't begin to list even the top genres I like. But if you are a lover of music, no matter which kind, I'm sure we can have a good conversation! But if I have to chose: Beyonce

Books: Hemingway, Miranda July, Azar Nafisi, Rudyard Kipling, Trilby, David Sedaris, Love In The Time of Cholera, Khalil Gibran, Jack Kerouac, Kurt Vonnegut, Vanity Fair, and so on, and so on

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been kicked out of a historic theatre in Guanajuato, Mexico for sneaking into the 'restricted section.' I was almost arrested by Hizbollah members in a neighborhood in Beirut for taking photos. Also in Beirut I snuck into an embassy party where I was mistaken for a prostitute (excuse me, 'escort') by a Hungarian diplomat (no joke!) and then detained for a few hours for security questioning. And then one time I accidentally got stranded in a village in Nicaragua for 2 days because I fell asleep on the bus...but it turned out to be the most amazing part of my trip! I guess the moral of this story is...you should think twice if you're with me and I say the words "what's the worst that could happen."
