ABOUT ME

They would say that I am honest and kind.

I grew up in Seattle, Egypt, and Pakistan. I graduated from the International School of Islamabad in 1989 and then from the United States Air Force Academy in 1993. I spent 12 years on active duty as a pilot. I got out in 2007 and became a barista at Starbucks. I then started an internet company and did some real estate investing, both of which wiped me out. So, I'm now on an adventure which has taken me (by motorcycle) from Seattle to Alaska to Florida. I then began boat hitching on sailboats, which has gotten me across the Atlantic and some of the Mediterranean.

I usually stay in hostels, but from time-to-time couchsurfing makes more sense.

Philosophy interests me. And Game of Thrones (winter is coming!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most exciting things that I have witnessed on this journey is dolphins at night. A couple approached our sailboat in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Since it was dark, we couldn't see the dolphins, but we could see the trails of phosphorescent plankton streaming behind them. It was mesmerizing and magical.
