CURRENT MISSION
Find a native speaker of Ancient Greek
ABOUT ME
I'd describe myself as an eccentric intellectual with a passion for the outdoors. I study linguistics as a day job, sing on the side, and bike as far out of Philly as I can on my days off. It's hard to say how other people see me, but I'd say I generally come off as friendly but a little awkward ("Why is he so enthusiastic about Proust?").
PHILOSOPHY
Progress is an illusion, so we should just try to make the most of life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Totally green beginner!
Interests
I like reading, hiking, biking, traveling, singing, running, discovering odd new things about places that I never noticed before, discovering cool new places I never knew were there before, going out to low-key bars, studying new languages, learning new things (the obscurer and older the better), questioning the meaning of life, and cooking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
(1) Hiking up an active volcano in the Aeolian Islands. If I'd read the sign, I would've known not to walk down into the caldera, but I had a more memorable experience that way. (2) Looking out on the vast flooded flatness of the Everglades, and feeling like it was the edge of the world. (3) Backpacking through the highlands of southern Virginia, and watching the sun rise a thousand feet below me.
