ABOUT ME

Greetings! My name is Aaron. I'm a teacher, life-long student, traveler, and activist. I love meeting people from all over the world and learning about different cultures. I've been to most countries in Europe and the Middle East, different parts of Africa, southeast Asia, and Latin America. I'm from California (the San Francisco Bay Area). I've also lived in Yemen, Israel-Palestine, Prague, San Diego, Washington DC, Geneva and am frequently in France, because my wife is French. We live in Santiago now where she works for the UN. I'm interested in meeting new friends and travel contacts. I love giving travel advice and hosting people too. So let's meet. I already have a lot friends around the world from traveling and teaching English as a Second Language, but I could always use more.

*Hard to host these days with a young child and baby, but if it's a good match, ask me. Especially activists doing good work who need a place. Also anyone interested in exploring Chilean wines. I also believe in quality of hosting and not quantity, so I only host when I have time to be a good host and the guest has time to hang out too. Even if I can't host, I may still be able to meet up and show you around. I'm always free to offer advice.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Safari in Kenya: Seeing lion cubs eating fresh meat, two lions mating, etc. Just like on the nature shows I watched when I was kid.
Israel-Palestine: Seeing signs of hope and humanity despite the occupation and violence. Ex: Laughed with a soldier stopping my taxi with a tank.
Worked on an archaeological excavation just like Indiana Jones =)

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Can play guitar and teach basic guitar. Ukuele too. Studied some French, Spanish, Arabic, Hebrew, and German years ago but could use more practice. Can give travel tips: especially Washington DC, California (especially San Francisco), Hawaii, France, Yemen, Switzerland and Israel-Palestine, or any other place I've (we've) been to (See below). I'm a history teacher and ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher, so I'm always willing to teach and learn new things.
