Life is an adventure and I am in constant wonder of the world and the people in it. I marvel in the very complex theories of how the universe and the human mind work to the simple joys of life, such as taking in a warm summer breeze with the cold sand sifting through my toes. I help others find direction in their life situations and make meaning out of everything from their careers to their trials and tribulations. I help them find their peace in the space between. I am a soul searcher and a healer. I am a visionary and social entrepreneur. I practice. I teach. I connect deeply. I direct strongly. I be and I do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A wise Theravadic Buddhist monk once told me that all people are like lotus flowers. They close at night to protect themselves from the cruel conditions of the night, the harsh winds and the torrent rains. Lotus’s need the gentle coaxing of the sun’s rays in order to open and show the beauty that they hide within. He said that most of humanity sees a closed lotus and never imagine that such a plain and ugly thing could have such beauty hidden inside. Intuitively, I knew that there was more. That all people had beauty within them. We fail to see because we focus on their rough spots. I just need to have the patience, the wisdom, and the consciousness and compassion to coax them open by showing my own light.

Interests

One of the services that I will provide my hosts is a free coaching session using the Enneagram, which is a personality system that focuses on 9 different types. Unique to other personality measures, it provides a pathway for spiritual growth through self understanding and has suggestions for moving towards healthy behavior specifically tailored to each type. Each person I have shared this with has found it helpful in someway personal to them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best thing about visiting a new city is just to wonder aimlessly for a day and discover something new. I spent a whole day doing this in London and chanced upon a 4 story toy stored called Hamleys. I would have never gotten the thrill of discovering the place if I had read about it in some guidebook. Instead, I explored it with the nostalgic eyes of a grown up man who refuses to lose his imagination. Then I found the nearest pub and introduced them to the Black Apple, only to find out it was illegal for bartenders in London to mix beer and cider. The things you learn from wanderlust!
