ABOUT ME

I'm a 24-year-old guy who's trying to figure out as much as I can about life and how to live it, all while having fun along the way. I'm from Minnesota, USA, and although I deeply love my hometown and practically everything associated with it, I have the great fortune of having been bitten by the travel bug. My eventual career path is math education, but for now I'm teaching English and loving it!

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live my life to the fullest, and I've found that the best way to do that is to laugh and to smile. Whenever possible. I get along with almost everyone, because i think that we all have stories to share and something that lights our fires.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing because i think that the most important thing to do while traveling is to meet people. I don't go to a new place just to look at old buildings or at landscapes, i go there to talk to people. I think that's kinda the point of this crazy game we're playing. :)

Interests

I love listening to/singing to/creating music. I can't think of anything that puts me in a better mood than singing one of my favorite songs. I play bass guitar and piano mainly, but I used to play trumpet and baritone in band.

I also love writing and telling stories - I'm currently working on a trilogy of science fiction novels, for example. And...if you catch me in the right mood, i can read you some of the poetry I've been writing these past few years.

Another passion of mine is video games. So i could talk about those if you like them too!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love alternative rock, hard rock, rock...and electronic, techno, industrial...and, more recently, an experimental genre called plunderphonics.

As for books, i like epics that build new worlds, black comedies, or surrealist streams of consciousness. The more fantastical, the better, i think.

My favorite movie is eternal sunshine of the spotless mind since it deals with dreams and because the title is taken from one of my favorite poems. Other than that, i like surreal movies, comedies, or complex thrillers. I'll watch anything though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a meteor fly right over my head while lying on a beach in the north woods of Wisconsin.

I talked late into the night on a sand dune in Morocco.

I moved halfway across the world for someone i loved...even if it didn't work out. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to talk about street art, languages, perceptions, philosophy, and poetry, but most of all...i love to talk about dreams.

Dreams are journeys we all go on every single night, and even though they're very private experiences, i think by hearing about people's dreams, you learn about their secret inner worlds.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a good mood and stories of my travels and my life. Since I love listening too, we could have some good conversations if we don't run out of daylight too fast.
