About Me

I'm a recent Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs (UBC) graduate living in Vancouver and soon moving to Victoria to begin working as a Policy Analyst with the BC Ministry of Public Safety. I'm excited to explore the city's restaurants, museums, cafes, bakeries, beaches, and bike paths. Also to be able to give back to this great community which has allowed me to meet some fantastic people all over Europe. My love for the outdoors comes from growing up in Alberta with the beautiful rocky mountains at my door step. My love of traveling and exploring stems from living in Thailand for 2 years. I love running, cycling, surfing, tennis, music (hip-hop, jazz, indie rock, and some EDM), and of course eating, which comes from traveling all over the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What makes a great trip are the people you meet along the way that open your eyes to a different perspective on life or where you have a great connection and make lifelong friendships. Hotels, AirBnbs, and hostels are great but there's something about staying in someone's home; that we get to know each other's place and way of life a little more fully. As an exchange student in France I learned way more about the culture and language in peoples' homes than in the classroom and made lifelong memories. People were incredibly kind, welcoming, and funny. I'm looking forward to having my own place in Victoria so I can give back to this great community.

Interests

I really love trying new things and appreciating the arts and culture of people different from myself. I enjoy running, playing soccer and ultimate, kickboxing, dancing, live music, cafes, museums and exploring new places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How about 2 things. I speak, read, and write Thai after living there for 2 years. As a plus I can make pretty good green curry. I've also ran 2 ultramarathons; a 50km one in Alberta and 63km one in New Zealand.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Thai and Thai cooking.
I'd love to speak and improve my French.

I enjoying cooking and sharing food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories of all the places I've traveled in North and Central America, Europe, East and Southeast Asia, and the Oceania. I would love to share some drinks or food and learn about Victoria and what makes it a great place to live in.
