About Me

I am an international student from India currently living in Goettingen, Germany. I study people, culture and society. I have been part of the Couchsurfing community for the past five years, and have had wonderful experience hosting and being hosted by a travelling community. In my two years in Germany, I hope to explore the best of Europe. I look forward to making friends through Couchsurfing.

I am a person sharing deep commitments to anti-racism and queer feminism. No racist, sexist or conservative reactions will be expected or encouraged from the host or the guest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To travel on a minimal budget, host nice people and share experiences with them.

Music, Movies, and Books

It is hard to pick just one favourite for music, movies or books. The choice is therefore incomplete, tentative and is merely indicative in purpose. But my favourite musician is AR Rahman. As for the book, Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi is one of my all-time favourites. Likewise, one of my favourite movies is Portrait of a Lady on Fire by Celine Schiamma.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The business of describing "the one" is really deceptive. But if I have to comment, it has been my trip to the ancient Himalayan Village of Malana. On my way back, I had to trek the snow-clad mountains without any gear, for close to four hours. The sheer joy of having made our destination safely, was one of the most joyous feelings I have had.

Teach, Learn, Share

About the hidden layers of history in people's embodiment, in buildings, lakes, oceans and food. About the various experiences of one's travel, and how that changed her profoundly or unconsciously. About everything that concerns each other. About love.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring to them my own experience as a student of history, culture and society. Of my experience in travel. As a native of India, I can talk to them about the peculiarities of my land and its people. I can talk to them about everyday politics. After all, I can invite them to my own places.
