About Me

Hi there!
My name is Daniel, I was born and raised in Hungary until I reached the age of 19 when I have gathered my courage and let my will for adventure run free and I moved to the United Kingdom, where I've been living for three years. I've learned many new things, gathered lots and lots of new experiences and skills, and again I'm at the point where I want to embark on new adventures. I want to move to another country as I feel that I had my share from the current one, but at the same time, I also desire to simply shred the boundaries of my comfort zone once again and go wherever my soul takes me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm happy to host travellers or meet with people who visit my hometown when I'm there. As for surfing, I would like to travel to many, many places with Couchsurfing! If I don't have a place to host, I'm more than happy to hang out with travellers, show them around in the city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosting more than I have surfed so far, and I enjoy both.

Interests

I have been working in hospitality (pubs, bars and restaurants) for more than five years now, which has given me a wide range of skills from cleaning and maintaining order in my surroundings, paired with some understanding of food, spices, wine, cocktails and other beverages, skills to work as and be a part of a team and the importance of respect, and also to work alone and to be independent, self-sufficient. This profession has also taught me a great deal in management and communication skills in higher levels then I have ever imagined.

Other than these practicalities, I'm keen on learning languages and through this, unlocking new and deeper understanding of different cultures, people and customs of the world. I'm interested in psychology, philosophy, literature and visual arts. Love cooking, gardening and reading as well. And just to mention, music is the fuel of my life. I used to practice Ashtanga Yoga and Transcendental Meditation, however, lately I have neglected these, but I'm trying to re-integrate them in my daily habits.
