About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to find a small group of young women around my age (20-25) who can offer me a place to sleep at night and show me around the city during the day. Seeing shows together would be a plus but not a must!
ABOUT ME
I'm shy but always willing to learn new things, even though it takes a little time. I enjoy performing, seeing plays, movies, reading classic novels, writing; I haven't camped or gone hiking, kayaking, etc. in a very long time but would love an opportunity someday to do so.
I live in a spirited city, San Francisco, am lucky to be living with wonderful, open-minded, friendly, socially aware individuals; they've cracked open my world. I am not deep into politics, but I am pro-choice, a supporter of gay marriage or any civil liberty to be afforded to EVERYONE, anti-war; however, I still consider myself ignorant in many of these issues and always want to understand and respect both sides of every argument.
I'm an animal lover (of EVERY kind) and have had many in my life: cats, dogs, birds, possums, mice, rats, and rabbits.
I love classical music, classic rock, mostly everything (rarely listen to rap, metal, or country but I do love some songs from those genres), and I whole-heartedly worship the Beatles.
I prefer thought-provoking films with interesting characters and writing as opposed to action, some of my favorite films are the Pianist, the Lion in Winter, Trainspotting, Dear Frankie, Little Children, Devil Wears Prada, Brokeback Mountain, To Kill a Mockingbird, Taxi Driver, an eclectic list that goes on forever, but I'm susceptible to Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell movies, Napoleon Dynamite, 40-Year-Old Virgin, and on and on.
My favorite authors/playwrights are: Tony Kushner, Amy Tan, Virginia Woolf, Margaret Edson, Eileen Atkins, Betty Smith, Sylvia Plath, Emily Dickinson, Walt Whitman, Johann Wolfgang Goethe, William Shakespeare, Stephen Adly Guirgis, Fyodor Dostoevsky, and George Bernard Shaw.
Any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm sure I forgot about something.
PHILOSOPHY
I dunno. Just do what you like. Within reason.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
This is my first time doing this; I would first like to set up a meeting (online or by phone if preferred) with someone who has been a host in New York before and is knowledgeable of the city. I think once I've done this a few more time, I may be comfortable enough to begin hosting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Not any.
Interests
I love reading, performing, writing, going on adventures/trips with friends, trying new things every day and expanding my mind and appreciation for people and things (within reason and with responsible people who know what they're doing). I usually only watch TV if it's already on and my friends/roommates are tuned into something interesting; but I love watching movies and take as many opportunities as I can to see as many movies as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books
I pretty much said so in "All About You."
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I can't think of anything great I've seen, but once I fought off two full-grown boxers (dogs, not professional), and I came out okay, just with a couple of scars and all that.
Teach, Learn, Share
I always feel like a student, learning from everyone. I don't know how much I've ever really taught anyone. Sometimes people are amazed by how much I know about a particular film, song, artist, or country, but I dunno, some info I absorb like a sponge and save it for later. Some info goes in one ear and out the other. That's usually the common-sense, money-saving, life-saving info. Oh well.
