My name is Bouke, born in '86 in the Netherlands. Life is ever changing, and so are we.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Finding couches, meeting people to travel with, hosting travelers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love couchsurfing. I've made many friends through CS. Hosted more than surfed.
Interests
I enjoy conversations on big topics.
I'm interested in philosophy, economics, politics, technology, entrepreneurship, health, happiness and foreign languages.
My hobbies are:
- Talking with people about interesting topics
- Self Improvement
- Computer programming
- Sports: Running
- Music: Guitar, Piano
- Learning other languages
I learned to speak Japanese and Chinese. It was a big hobby of mine for many years, and I still enjoy speaking it. Languages really fascinate me. Learning a new language is like building a new personality inside your mind. Plot twist, 2018 update: it's fascinating because your other personality is also a construct. :-O

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Finally I'm enjoying metal and hard rock. Woohoo. But I still like jazz, got back to some EDM, casually listen ambient music for zoning out at work, waltzes are also amazing.
Books:
I most enjoy books that can help me go forward in life. Although novels can be fascinating too, I am inclined to not see the point of reading them (except enjoyment, but then it takes so much time). So instead, I waste time on the internet.
I read about self development, technical books, entrepreneurship, psychology, spirituality.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I used to work in the kitchen of a Chinese restaurant, doing dishes :-D
