Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to learn how to sleep on a transatlantic flight.
ABOUT ME
I would describe myself as curious, easygoing, and friendly. My friends usually describe me as 'unusually tall'.Originally from the midwestern US (one of those rectangular states), I study in Boston and was on exchange in Paris last year. I love languages and cultures (especially Russian), discussing politics, literature, philosophy, etc.
PHILOSOPHY
The world is full of peoples, each with its own outlook on life, and the more you understand about how other people think, the more dimensions life itself takes on.

Music, Movies, and Books
Lolita, Crime and Punishment, Brothers Karamazov, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Guns Germs and SteelMusic-wise, I am obsessed with Arcade Fire and Belle & Sebastian. I also enjoy Phoenix, various Russian bard-style artists (Nikitin, Vysotsky, etc.), and Lupe Fiasco. My favorites in cinema are Fellini, Woody Allen, French 'Nouvelle vague', Soviet films (Irony of Fate, Moscow doesn't believe in tears, etc.) and more recent American films like Little Miss Sunshine, a Single Man, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Thanks to some extremely cool couch surfer friends, my experience in France was somewhat unorthodox. My personal favorite: midnight candle-lit festivities in illegal catacombs with an accordionist-trumpeter and a live rooster.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach and learn languages (all of them). I make no exceptions. If you speak anything that isn't English and have some interest in language, we will be very good friends.
