About Me
The big love affair with travelling came about in November 2017- I sold everything I own, quit my permanent job at a hospital, rehomed my pets and set off on and adventure to South America with no plan, little money and pocket full of dreams! I had an epic time in Colombia for 2 months, flew across to Brazil for party times at Rio Carnivale and then explored Ecuador for a few weeks. I spent 6 weeks volunteering on a permaculture farm on the Galapagos Islands which was one of the most incredible experiences ever! Then I volunteered with a sustainable fashion designer in Cusco, hiked the Inca Trail and explored Peru a little. South America was incredible.
After that, I flew north and spent 3 months making legendary friends, going to festivals and living city life in Montreal.
When I'm not travelling for fun, I'm travelling for work- currently locuming as an Occupational Therapist around Australia. Most recently on a 9 month stint in Mount Isa, doing fly in and fly out work to remote Aboriginal communities. I've just come back from a 3 month trip in South Africa and am now road tripping back to QLD for another job. Happy days.
I live for adventure, am super easy going and am always up for a laugh. :)
Currently a bit obsessed with climate change and saving the world...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing in November 2016 and my life changed forever. The depth of trust, love and acceptance that I have gained from this amazing community has shown me a side of humanity that I din't know existed. I have had some of the most fun, awesome and hilarious moments with strangers that have become life long friends. I have loved and valued every single person I've met through CS.
Interests
Like most people on Couch surfing, I love travel. And not just seeing new places, but the excitement that builds when i book a plane ticket to a new city, or hearing my friend's stories of their last holiday. I love to read travel blogs and I waste countless hours watching YouTube videos of people's travel experiences.
I also love to kayak, walk my dog and am currently learning Spanish.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I can't do one...
- Seeing fairy penguins in New Zealand at dawn and then again under the stars in Tasmania.
- Snorkelling with marine iguanas and turtles on the Galapagos Islands,
- Night Kayakaing under the full moon in far north QLD, Australia in the ocean to an island.
- Top-and- tailing with a Japanese fella in his futon in Tokyo.
- Ocean fishing in Bali with the locals... at night... in a thunderstorm.
- Swimming next to a cassowary in the Daintree rainforest.
- Watching the southern lights and shooting stars with Couchsurfing hosts in Hobart.
- Kayaking with dugongs, dolphins, sharks and turtles in my hometown, Cairns.
- Doing a terribly unprepared hike up Cradle Mountain in awful weather.
Teach, Learn, Share
