About Me

I am a 21 year old Capetonian, studying International Relations at the University of Cape Town.
I am friendly and enthusiastic, always keen to meet new people and embrace new adventures. I consider myself to be open and relatable, and believe strongly in pushing myself to the boundaries of my comfort zone. That said; I am sensible and level-headed, and incredibly hardworking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The friends I have made, and the people I have met whilst travelling, have become friends (or made an impression on me) for life!
This November (2015) to February (2016) I am backpacking (predominantly solo) around Southeast Asia - including Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.
I am intrigued by the possibility of staying with locals and getting to know more about the heart of a country, away from the typical paths of the tourist industry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After completing my final year of school, I took a gap year in England, where I was privileged to have the opportunity to travel around much of Europe and the UK - immersing myself in so many different customs and cultures, and meeting such wonderfully diverse people (and fellow travel companions).
My year abroad certainly awoke in me a severe case of the travel bug, and I couldn't be more excited to get back on the road again in my upcoming trip to Southeast Asia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with hosts a part of my own background and culture, and my experiences of growing up in South Africa.
I hope to help/recipricate much to those who may welcome me into their homes.
