About Me

*I don't have a smart phone/not always connected, hence a low response rate; If you give notice, I'll try to get back to you as best I can*

CURRENT MISSION

Explore while you can---You don't live forever.

ABOUT ME

I'm 27, a graduate of a small liberal arts school in beautiful NW PA, live in Cleveland, and am looking to expand horizons and experiences as much as possible. I enjoy meeting new people, experiencing new things and avoiding mundane situations.

I'm also on a cycle-oriented couchsurfing type site called warmshowers.org (http://www.warmshowers.org/users/abbottj), I love hosting people that are also into cycling, and if you have a bike, I'd love to give you a tour of the city- it's pretty bike friendly!!

PHILOSOPHY

This is an ever changing thing, but one thing reigns true, I don't want to have regrets, or say I lacked adventure when my time eventually comes. I look to make as many friends as possible, and have as many memorable experiences as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I both host and surf, but have mostly hosted- I've surfed more through warmshowers.

I enjoy showing folks around, pointing out cool spots, and just showing a guest a good time in my city.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is all over the place, I have my foot in just about every type. If you want specific details check out my last.fm page: http://www.last.fm/user/jabbottman

As far as books, I enjoy all things Bill Bryson, Jon Krakauer, and anything that can lend insight into things I otherwise wouldn't know.

Movies? Don't really watch too many, but when I do watch them I enjoy documentaries, and any type of film that has you thinking about it after kind of like a good book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-I biked around Lake Erie in 2014 and that was a pretty great-met some awesome people through Warmshowers!

-Hiking up to Homestake Peak in Colorado (07/2011), and then walking the ridgeline of the Continental Divide. It was a great group of people and something that I'm not soon to forget.

Teach, Learn, Share

Meh, just don't be a jerk haha. Don't abuse the system, if you can host, host, if you can't- totally understandable.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love learning from folks that are travelling through. I enjoyed showing the great sides of Erie when I was there, and am looking to do the same in Cleveland. I'm new to the city, but am slowly picking up some gems around here, and would love to share what I've found!
