About Me

I grew up in Santa Rosa, California, a suburban town just north of San Francisco, and fell in love with soccer, which was super popular in my area. I also loved to run and explore the surrounding parks and drive up to Tahoe to snowboard during the winter.

When I turned 18 I went to college in Santa Cruz, Ca, a little surf town on the coast. This deepened my love for the ocean and nature. While in college I really started to get involved in backpacking and took an 81 day Outward Bound Course in which I learned so much about thriving in the wilderness. I then took my first Wilderness First Responder course and got jobs with a couple local ropes course companies.

From there I moved to Jackson, Wyoming and became a snowboard instructor for a season. My plan was to travel to South America then but I was increasingly unhappy so I decided to check out a meditation school in Wisconsin. I ended up staying there for 14 years, teaching and learning meditation. During that time I got lots of other odd jobs to help sustain myself while I dedicated all my time to my meditaion practices. I became a school bus driver for the public school system, I was a kitchen manager for a small restaurant, I worked as a waitress and hostess, I helped a restaurant with their social media and I became a wedding photographer.

For about 5 months at the beginning of 2016 I started traveling, visiting South America and volunteering down there. I then moved back to California and began house sitting and found a job as a vintage VW tour bus driver in San Francisco, which I love. It's great to meet other travelers and share the city with them. I'm hoping to earn enough money to allow me to set back out for South America again.

I'm a pretty easy going person, I don't smoke and don't drink (but I'm not against other people doing those things) I love to dance and have fun. I love to hike, to play soccer and to play other kinds of sports. I love to watch soccer too, when I have the time and it's available.

I hope you will consider having me as a guest and I can't wait to meet you and enjoy your city.

Music, Movies, and Books

I know it's cheesy to say but my favorite movie is Pride and Predjudice. I also love Stranger Than Fiction, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Lucy, the Bourne movies and so on. For books I love Ender's Game, Wild, Tiny Beautiful Things, The Glass Castle... Music, I love lots of different types of music but am in between favorites at the moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I came to Bolivia I decided to raise money and donate soccer balls once I was here. A friend told me about this company called 'One World Futbol' which creates self inflating, indestructible balls. I raised just enough money to buy 10 of them and am giving them out to the communities in the country around Sucre. The balls are perfect because the landscape is so harsh and I'm hoping they hold up really well. I recently gave 2 to a school in Maragua, they were playing with soccer balls that were half flat and super old. I was so happy to give them these and hope many kids will be able to use them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Unfortunatly I'm not the best cook but I do have several dishes I know how to make that might be useful. I know how to make pancakes and love eating them. I am super friendly and can share whatever I know with guests. If you need a new profile picture I can help you take a new one :)
