About Me

ABOUT ME

Right now I'm in my 4th (and final year) of medical school in Des Moines, Iowa. I'm starting my residency in Ob/Gyn in Cincinnati, Ohio this year. I went to college in South Dakota and played soccer for the varsity women's team. I'm a really hard worker, but I love to kick back and have fun. Always willing to try new things. I love traveling, and discovering new places and cultures.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the fullest, see the world through other people's eyes, and leave the world a better place than you found it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently looking to surf. Will be looking to host once I get settled in my own place- right now I'm living in a different place every month.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed in Barcelona, Spain! We were only scheduled to stay 2 out of our 5 nights, but hit it off so well with our host that he let us stay the whole time we were in Barcelona. He even took us to his family Christmas celebrations!
Also couchsurfed in Madrid, Spain and had great experiences and met some great people. Even got to attend a couchsurfing event at a bar there.
Looking forward to couchsurfing more and getting settled in my own place to start hosting.

Interests

SOCCER (Football), volleyball, basically anything active (cycling, running, hiking, american football, etc). I also love watching movies, listening to music, hanging out with friends and family, reading, gardening, cooking, recently started painting (not very good, but I do love it and find it relaxing). And of course I've fallen in love with traveling :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taught English and Math to 5 year olds in Boma Ng'ombe, Tanzania- had the MOST AMAZING CLASS OF KIDS!!!
Drank blood soup when I was in Africa (cow blood)- wasn't a fan, but at least I can say I tried it!
Seeing Victoria Falls in Zambia and hitch-hiking around the country with my best friend
Working in a hospital in Uganda and seeing the terrible conditions in the public health system there.
Catching my first baby!! (as in during birth) Now I've delivered lots more, but it was still an amazing experience the first time. Hence the reason I want to go into Ob/gyn...
