ABOUT ME

I'm a chill lady who likes to write, make art and experience new places and ideas. I'm from the American midwest and have spent time in London, New Zealand and France as well as traveling around-- mostly Europe so far but hopefully more soon. I've worked as a florist, baker, sheep farmer, middle school teacher, writer and puppeteer. English is fluent, French is okay, Japanese is coming verrry slowly. I like to go with the flow, share meals and stories with people, learn new things and say yes to life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great way to meet people and really be where you are, and to have completely unexpected experiences. A community which trusts, shares with and is open to one another is a community which says the world is a brighter place than we feared.

Music-- Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac, soul music, oldies radio, dancing music, if it's jiving its good w/ me. I've got a violin, but don't let me play it.

Movies-- 80s scifi, art house crap, French New Wave, Fellini, Tarkovsky, Studio Ghibli are some faves

Books-- could be a big list. Virginia Woolf, Anais Nin, lots of poetry (Dickinson, O'Hara, Jorie Graham, John Berryman, Anne Carson), Beckett, Pinter, Renata Adler, Sontag, Salinger, George Saunders. Honestly I love reading, I would read the back of the cereal box if it were all that's left.
