About Me
ABOUT US
We enjoy traveling and meeting interesting people from around the globe. Culture, food, music, art and language intrigue us and we love good conversation on any number of topics. We've been together for 15 years (yikes!) We both do a lot of reading and have an insatiable curiosity for learning about the world around us. We love meeting new people and trying new things.
PHILOSOPHY
Every situation is an opportunity to learn something new | Appreciate what you have as it may not be yours tomorrow | Share your gifts with the world and allow the world to share its wisdom with you
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW WE PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are happy to host. We have a private office/guest room available in Sheboygan, about 8 blocks from Lake Michigan. We'd also love to hang out, grab dinner, and share all that the Sheboygan area has to offer (which is actually quite a bit for a city of its size.) Would also love to meet fellow Couchsurfers living in the area.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've hosted a handful of times (apparently the Sheboygan area isn't the most in demand destination) and hope to have the opportunity to welcome more surfers. We have some travel in mind and hope to be able surf along the way. We would love to meet other CS'ers in the area for conversation over dinner or drinks or to attend a festival or other event. We definitely look forward to additional Couchsurfing experiences.
Interests
What aren't we interested in?!? We're both quite curious about other people, places and cultures and enjoy sharing experiences, meals and open dialog with friends old and new. Among our interests:
- Reading
- Travel (the kind where you're immersed in the place and its culture, not spending your days behind the gates of a resort)
- Music (both playing and listening)
- Museums and other cultural excursions
- Fuzzy, four-legged creatures

Teach, Learn, Share
Abby:
Teach: Everything nonprofit- from start up (obtaining 501(c)3 status, by-laws, board structure) to fundraising (grants, events, appeals) and communications and everything in between
Share: Crafty ideas. I speak Spanish at an intermediate/proficient level and seize every opportunity to practice the language. Book suggestions.
Ryan:
Teach: Happy to impart gardening and horticultural know how; can share how to tie a taut line hitch and other knots (ode to scouting!)
Share: A love of history. A ton of random facts. Speaks French and Spanish at a conversational level and loves to practice.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lively conversation, someone to do the dishes, an eagerness to explore your city (perhaps allowing you to see the area with fresh eyes) and our sincere gratitude!
