ABOUT ME

I've been told I'm a Renaissance Man, a Jack-of-all-Trades. My interests lie in all things creative and expressive, but I have the ability to be incredibly industrious as well. I love cooking up a great meal from scraps lying around the house. I throw a mean dinner party. I like going "back-alley shopping" and creating a cool new piece of furniture from some one else's junk pile. I like watching herbs grow. I enjoy being in the front row of roller-coasters and rock concerts. I sing-along in the car. Road trips are a blast and I have a soft-spot for roadside kitsch and faded museums. I could spend a whole day looking at Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte." I throw a mean frisbee. I wish I was English.

Music, Movies, and Books

...always have the stereo or iPod going, but on Sundays, it's the Beatles and nothing else. You can usually find me at the front of the line for a Wilco concert. Radiohead makes me happy, not depressed.

Yellow Submarine is the most brilliant animated film of all time. North by Northwest is the most well-crafted and consistently entertaining film of all-time. The Jerk is the funniest movie of all-time. The Shining is the scariest movie of all-time. The Goonies is my favorite childhood film of all-time.

A Prayer for Owen Meany will become your favorite book once you take my advice and read it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once rescued a drowning girl. Terrifying, but amazing the way my body and brain reacted instantly to the situation. You don't realize what you are capable of until adversity slaps you in the face.
