Overview
About Me
My name is Abdelrahman (most people call me AK). I'm originally from Egypt but raised in Qatar. I majored in culture and politics which explains why I love traveling so much. During my studies I had the opportunity to travel to in Florence, italy to study Italian culture and politics. I must say that I had the time of my life in italy mainly because I was surrounded by incredible people from all over the world. I think there is something absolutely beautiful about connecting with people from different cultures and traditions and I've been lucky enough to explore that beauty not only in my studies but also through experience.
Things you should know about me:
1- I think that I'm an introvert. I like going out in small groups and going to quite places and it usually takes time for me to get comfortable around new friends.
2- I like cake
3- I really like cake :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in a semi autonomous neighborhood for a month. The place is called Christiania in Denmark. The place was established in 1972 when squatters took down the fence of an army base, and claimed this territory as their own. Today this place has a certain degree of political and social autonomy over the Danish state. It offers a space where alternative culture can establish itself within the modern capitalist state. I did my thesis on this neighborhood and received a research grant from a research center in Copenhagen to live there.
Teach, Learn, Share
I hope this can be a learning opportunity for me and an adventure as I visit new places and get know new people.
