About Me

"A Stranger Is Just A Friend That You Haven't Met Yet.."

Hey there! My name is Mellouki and I'm an Export Manager living in Eskişehir, Turkey. Although I never thought I would host or be hosted by strangers, in 2017 I participated in an exchange program called "AIESEC" where I was hosted by some friendly people who had a profound impact on my life. Since then, I've come to believe that hosting a stranger at least once in your life can be an amazing and life-changing experience.

As a fun and easygoing person, I enjoy spending time with humble and positive people who I can learn from. I'm always looking for people who can share their perspectives on the world and help me grow. In my free time, I love hiking, riding bikes, hanging out with friends, fishing, picnics, and long walks. I'm also an avid traveler and have been fortunate enough to visit some incredible destinations.

As a host, I'm happy to provide a comfortable place to stay and some local recommendations for things to do and see in Eskişehir. As a guest, I'm respectful and considerate of my host's home and rules.

I'm looking forward to connecting with people from all over the world through Couchsurfing and sharing some unforgettable experiences together. If you have any questions or if you'd like to explore Eskişehir together, feel free to reach out!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe in the power of travel to connect people and break down cultural barriers. I think that meeting and staying with locals is one of the best ways to truly experience a place and learn about the people who live there. I'm also excited to meet fellow travelers from all over the world and hear about their own adventures and experiences. Couchsurfing provides a unique opportunity to connect with people and create lasting friendships, and I'm excited to be a part of this community.

Interests

In terms of interests, I'm always up for a stimulating conversation about a variety of topics. I enjoy discussing thought-provoking questions and ideas that challenge my perspective and broaden my horizons. Long walks and talks about business and the world economy are always intriguing to me, as are conversations about personal development and self-improvement. I love listening to people's perspectives on any topic and sharing my own point of view as well. Ultimately, I strive to spend quality time with my guests that will have a positive impact on future me 🙏

Music, Movies, and Books

🎻: I am a big fan of blues music, as well as Latin American music. I also enjoy listening to rap music from the UK, France, and the United States. I find that music can be a great way to relax and unwind after a long day, and I love discovering new artists and genres.

📚: I am an avid reader, and I am always looking for new books to add to my collection. Some of my favorite books include "The Compound Effect" and "The Atomic Habit," which are both great resources for anyone interested in personal development. I also enjoy reading fiction, and some of my favorite authors include Paolo Coelho and Lauren Gunelle. "The Alchemist" by Paolo Coelho and "Le Jour Où J'ai Appris À Vivre" by Lauren Gunelle are two books that have had a profound impact on me.

🎬: I enjoy a wide variety of movies. Ofcourse, I would start with "Into the wild" and similar ones, but some of my favorites include "Green Line," "Bird Box," and "The Platform." I also love almost all of Leonardo DiCaprio's movies, as well as sci-fi and fantasy movies like "Avatar" and Disney movies. I find that movies can be a great way to escape from reality and immerse yourself in a new world for a few hours.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I have done was to go camping with some close friends at a very remote lake. We had to hike through rugged terrain to reach it, but once we did, it was an incredible experience. We fished for our own food, swam in the crystal clear waters, and slept under the stars. It was a true adventure, and we felt completely disconnected from the outside world.

Another amazing thing I did was coming to Eskişehir, Turkey and building a life from scratch. I started with nothing but a suitcase and a few Turkish phrases, but I was determined to make it work. Over time, I made friends, learned the language, and started to feel at home. It was a challenging experience, but also incredibly rewarding. I feel proud of what I have accomplished here, and grateful for the opportunity to experience a new culture and way of life.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a host, I am always open to learn from my guests' experiences and share my own knowledge and skills. I can offer my guests insights about Moroccan culture, history, and traditions, and introduce them to delicious local cuisine. I am also happy to exchange language skills and practice speaking English, French, Arabic or Turkish with my guests. On the other hand, I would be glad to learn more about my guests' backgrounds, perspectives, and interests, and discover new cultures and languages. I am open to learning new skills or hobbies, and would love to share my passion for music and travel with my guests. Overall, I believe that hosting is an opportunity to create meaningful connections and learn from each other, while having a great time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest, I believe in showing appreciation and respect to my hosts by being a responsible and considerate guest. I am willing to help with household chores, and contribute to any shared expenses during my stay. I am also open to sharing my own culture and experiences with my hosts, and learning from theirs. I am passionate about mind stimulating conversations and discussing thought-provoking topics, so I am always up for engaging in deep discussions with my hosts. Moreover, I can share my knowledge about business, world economy, investment, personnel development, and more, as well as listen to and learn from my hosts' perspectives on any topic. As for leisure time, I am happy to watch movies, play board games, or go on outings together. I am flexible and respectful of my hosts' personal space and preferences, and I will make sure to maintain a positive and friendly atmosphere throughout my stay.
