About Me

My name is Abdellatif Amal, I work for Ryanair as cabin crew.
I speak English Fluently, second Arabic and then French. I was raised in an
American orphanage here in Morocco right outside a small Berber village in the Atlas
Mountains. The Berbers better known as Amazighs are a group of indigenous people to North
Africa, kind of like the Native Americans are to the US.
They live on land that meets the horizon, build mud and stone houses, own Sheep, cows, horses,
chickens, and goats and many other livestock. They rarely depend on modern technology to get
them through each day because they believe this would dilute their way of life.
Their lives are so interesting that as a child I would occasionally take my foreign friends to experience a
priceless culture. We would travel across large plains on donkeys, drank from fresh springs, and
slept in wool tents that stretch across the sands. We would make our own Tajines that we would
cook in clay pots for hours, while we danced around the fire, and told stories under the stars.
As I grew up I was always fascinated on teaching others about my country. I finished high school in Fes and later moved to Tangier because I love its diversity and different lifestyles. I signed up to couchsurfing because I have my own place and love getting to know new people. I have met many interesting people from all walks of life
with different perceptions of Morocco. They never realized how historic and cultural this
country really is until they visited. Food food tastes ten times better then the pamphlets and
pictures you see on tv. The people so hospitable words cannot explain their kindness .
I love to explore and do the unthinkable. I consider myself adventurous and easygoing. A peaceful moment to me is when im out fishing drinking a beer and enjoying the view. . YOLO!!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tough to say what was most amazing, but one memory that always comes to mind is a sixteen hour hike I took in the Atlas Mountains. We hiked the entire way in treacherous areas and harsh weather . The journey was amazing It's impossible to describe how beautiful it was.
