Overview
About Me
I'm an international student at Grinnell College in rural Iowa. I came to the United States finish the rest of my high school in Rabun Gap Nacoochee school and then started college right after my high school graduation. I would love to travel outside of the States but because of my passport complications, I can not get out of the country.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm Couchsurfing because I think it's an amazing way to get to know people. By staying with locals, not only do I save money, but also hosts would be able to help me spend my time better by suggesting where to visit, eat, etc.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Rock, Pop.
I also listen to Spanish and Indian music even though I don't understand the languages. I just enjoy the sounds.
I listen to some Somali music too, only this time I understand what they say.
Favorite show of all times: Breaking Bad.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have travelled alone for two days from Somalia to the United States for two days with about seven hours of layover and six times of plane changes. This was my first time leaving home.
As you can predict, lots of adventure and anxiety involved in the process, but I survived without incidents.
Teach, Learn, Share
I grew up in Somalia, therefore I have a lot to share--culture differences, stories etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Happiness, friendship, fun stories and a unique perspective.
