About Me
CURRENT MISSION
re-readjusting in an unsettled way via fighting against youth illiteracy in the Minneapolis Public Schools
ABOUT ME
I am a young man who has absolutely no clue what he wants out of life, and that makes me positively ecstatic. I love waking up everyday and trying my best to treat it like an adventure, even when it's routine. I've gone back and forth between throwing away everything I own and setting off with a backpack - to immersing myself in academia and work.
I'm a life-long enthusiast and probably too high-energy, but I've so far refused to let life get stale and I hope to keep it that way.
An ideal day would involve getting into a car in the morning, heading out in a random direction (avoiding major highways), telling stories in the car, exploring some small towns somewhere, stopping for hamburgers and a beer in a small bar with a hokey name, and being home far too late.
What else...I've been working with inner-city youth in some capacity for the last decade, and I couldn't imagine myself in any other position. I love not knowing what to expect each day and being challenged by people who are 1/4th my age on a regular basis. I'm back in school to pursue a teaching license in ESL (or ELL, ELA, EL, or whatever todays acronym happens to be...) to work with immigrant youth to help them tell their stories.
Overall, I'm excited to combine my experiences from traveling and Couchsurfing all over this planet, with a job that will afford me some time every year to explore and nurture that part of myself.
PHILOSOPHY
Dance like no ones watching. "One never climbs as high as he who knows not where he goes."

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book is High Fidelity. If anyone wanted to learn about me, I would just tell them to read that book. Much easier than explaining myself, and probably a bit less boring.
Also, if you want to become enlightened without all that meditation then please read anything by Mr. Tom Robbins.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hard to pick just a few...
-4 blurry, wonderful days at Las Fallas festival in Valencia, Spain.
-Riding a camel out in the Sahara Desert and realizing that there are more stars than sky up there.
-Sleeping in the stairs of a bus terminal in Barcelona and then winding up living in Barcelona for 5 months, calling America and asking people questions about tax software. I know, right?
-Having my car break down in the middle of NOWHERE Nebraska and having a good, hearty laugh about it.
-Riding trains through the Chernobly exclusion zone and trying not to panic.
-hitchhiking fishing boats in the Caribbean Sea.
the list keeps going on...and keeps growing! :)

"If you believe in peace, act peacefully; if you believe in love, acting lovingly; if you believe every which way, then act every which way, that's perfectly valid— but don't go out trying to sell your beliefs to the system. You end up contradicting what you profess to believe in, and you set a bum example. If you want to change the world, change yourself." -Tom Robbins, 'Still-life with Woodpecker.'
