About Me
Currently finishing my Masters of Environmental Management from Western Colorado University in Gunnison, CO, and working for the US Forest Service as a Forester/GIS Specialist/Public Affairs intern out of the Dolores District.
I received my Bachelors of Environmental Design in 2019 from the University of Colorado - Boulder and recently moved to the SW Colorado region to pursue a career in forestry. While in undergrad, I met my wife who is from the Cortez region, we've bought a house, adopted a cat and puppy, and have found our community!
In 2015, my friend Adam and I went on another great adventure in Peru and Bolivia. Along the way, we met some amazing souls, surfed the sand dunes of Huacachina, hiked the 2nd deepest canyon in the world, and climbed the infamous Manchu Picchu!
In 2013, after leaving the Navy, I bought a one-way ticket to Belize spent 8 months traveling through Latin America. During that stretch, I worked on organic farms, helped with carpentry projects, and served tables at several restaurants.
I adore the outdoors and am constantly trying to get lost in the wilderness. My ideal weekend would have to entail driving or hitchhiking to the entrance of a thick and unkempt forest with my backpack, some climbing gear, and some tunes. I enjoy finding new ways to make people think. I have a passion for animals and saving the environment. I would love nothing more than to travel to a foreign land and help clean up the landscape, cultivate and cook organic food, and help rehabilitate an endangered species in the area.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the coolest experiences I had though was meeting Jeffery Masson, a fellow avid animal lover/activist, vegan, and all around inspiring and brillant author. He is dedicated to the emotional lives of animals, vegetarianism, veganism (the ethics of food), animal rights, and human-animal interactions. We emailed back and forth for a little while and he invited me over to his house. My friend and I talked about his books and views while in the company of Benjy, the family dog. Cool time. I highly suggest checking out his website. http://jeffreymasson.com/
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always open to learn something new as well as teach someone something they didnt already know. I love to cook and know a thing or to about combining ingredients together well so if its food knowledge you're interested in, ask away. I also have ambitions about the outdoors with knowledge in backpacking, camping, and rock climbing. Whenever I host someone, one of the first things I look for is to see if they're interested in any of these things listed above.
