About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Become better at languages, music and cleaning my room -.-"...

ABOUT ME

There is always something fascinating about travelling.
I don't know whether it's the food(yum), the people(yay), the music( \m/ or \/..), the culture or the new way people look at the ordinary and show me their idea of reality.

I am Abhijit and I love life (and find it infinitely hilarious).

I always have a dangerous itch for curiosity and that motivates me to travel (to sometimes forbidden places) and meet new people. (so If you do receive a Couch request from me, please be assured that I am not doing it for free lodging but to genuinely try to learn something to fill in my blissfully vacant mind !!)

I have a weird set of jobs that range from Musician/Audio Engineer/Computer Geek/Vet (ot boy) /Seismic Trauma analyst. But I manage to gel in with most of the people to make really really awesome memories (The above really show how quickly I tire of Jobs rather than me being remotely intelligent... However I promise you I never tire of people :) )

I love philosophy and it's paradigms and have participated in Anton Wilson thought groups.

I love to party too :) DnB, Dubstep and break are usually my electronic music poison.

Jazz Festivals to Wacken, Classical recitals to Dubstep and Jungle gigs to Reggae circles, I always find myself at the oddest and the most wonderful places ever... Following the music is a nice way to plan out travels :) !!

I also love, love, love learning. If there is absolutely anything small that I can learn, I try to acquire it as a skill because of an infinite reserve of curiosity.

PHILOSOPHY

Well To be fair... I am too young to have a set personal doctrine or Dogma that I would like to follow for the rest of my life or for even a short period of time.

Travelling is all about discovering other people while discovering yourself.

I guess the only one thing that is grounded in my head is the idea of Quantum Psychology and it's view on semantic noise.

(in simplicity): When I say I love fish, you can understand that as I like to either eat fish or keep fish as pets while I actually may have meant that I love the band fish.

When we both look at the same tree together, the idea of reality of that tree formed in your head and reflected in your rods and cones is so unique to you and so vastly different from mine, yet we both agree that we both look at the same tree.

Think of all the semantic noise in education, religion, spirtiuality, philosophy, ideas, music and conversations.

This is my personal philosophy that as soon as I come across words, ideas, images, settings, situations, people etc. I look at it from every angle possible or try to discover new ways to look at it so as to not only avoid judging it to early, but to have a rounded understanding of it and it's contribution and placement in the world.

Aside from that^ jazz : I also love Goethe, Marx, Spinoza, Anton Wilson, Plato, Nihilism, Socrates, Aristotle, Nietzsche, Carl Jung (FUCK YOU FREUD XD XD), Krant, Heidegger, Schopenhauer, Wilhelm, Aristotle, Sartre, Rousseau, The several interpretations of Buddhism, A lot of Indian philosophers etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I always tend to travel to places where couchsurfing doesn't exist -.-"... The times, I do travel to a known place, I end up having a friend who can help me crash so I just try to host as many people as I can whichever part of the world I am.

I am always in a new country each year xD (anybody noticing a pattern ?) !! This just helps me get more stories and more memories :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ahhhh.... Ok so I haven't officially surfed from the website yet... (unattractive asian brown guys usually have a hard time finding a host -_-")

But the people I have met by hosting or otherwise have been AMAZING !!
So I guess out of the many, one of my funniest hosting experiences was with Daniel from err somewhere !! (This isn't his real name... Sorry dude it's the best I could come up with xD !!)

Daniel my friend came to my couch in Mumbai exactly at the time it was Holi... he enjoyed the sights, colors, sounds and the extreme attention (welcome to india However you should know that Daniel was a computer geek like me and works for a big company around the world using his trusty laptop.

Daniel came on the day of Holi and wanted to experience it like a true Indian (it's that day where you see a lot of colourful powder being thrown around xD) We have a ceremonial drink in India that is made from milk and marijuana (google bhang) (legal only for that week ) and Daniel gave it a go.

Unfortunately terror struck and he got a call from his boss after he drank the milk and now he needed a fast internet connection to do some very important work. Very fast internet connection in Mumbai is... errr... well you can say it doesn't exist... you would find it easier sending smoke signals -.-"...

So now Daniel is confused and everything is shut since it is a holiday. However we go around town on a bike to search for a cyber cafe.

With no luck on the way back Daniel exclaims... "Dude it's like I am floating in a dream... I think I am flying... whaat is going on ?"

Uh oh... I have a really really high couchsurfer with important work.... but we are all high, struggling to motivate each other to work or find a solution till we come to the wonderful conclusion of just going to sleep xD !!

Yeah that was fun... and hilarious. He didn't get fired.

Music, Movies, and Books

"I think I love jazz... It's just that i don't swing" o.o".. >.<

I had made a huge list of the music and books I am into over here, but I think the point is lost since no one really reads everything you write in a listed format -.-"...

So I guess I should say that I love Jazz, Classical, Fusion, Indie, acoustic and SPECIALLY *The Blues*

My childhood roots are and always will be Rock, Metal (Death, Black, Djent, core, Thrash, speed, melodic, alternative, hard, heavy, Technical, Post, industrial, grind included), Punk, Alternative rock, Bizzare (Bumblefoot's Mafalda anyone xD ??)

But in a party when I am into EDM I love listening to Reggae, DnB, Breakbeat (GO SPASTIC xD!!), Dubstep, Electronica, Trip Hop, Ambient/Drone, Psy, Trance, Goa etc. (I like Techno and house but really not the mainstream Guetta stuff >_t bore you with my playlist. I have a little laptop on the table connected to a pair of speakers. Play whatever you want :D !!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh dear... my amazing is usually everyone else's bizzare or stupid ._."

Well I guess one of them would have to be hiking in Ladakh.

It was -14 there and while I have faced colder temperatures, because of the lack of oxygen life becomes really really difficult.

So I was like an idiot rock climbing with my friend and was ready to give up and just call it quits...

Forget about my body, my mind was screaming in pain and telling me to STOP RIGHT NOW...

My Belayor saw that I was exhausted and yelled at me to take a small break... But the winds were bad and holding on even for a back brace was really hard.

Things were getting a tad bit rough and I was about to shout out the *falling* command and let go..when suddenly... *ahem* I'll complete the story over a beer when you meet me ;) !!

Cheers xD !!
