About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Currently studying at the University of Manchester for the '13-'14 academic year!

ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Abhi and I'm currently studying abroad at the University of Manchester in Manchester, England. I study mechanical engineering but also love history and dabble in a little bit of psychology and medicine (I'm a certified Emergency Medical Technician in America). I absolutely love traveling and airplanes as well as different languages. I enjoy most sports (football, futbol, ice hockey, and dodgeball are my favorites) and love going to concerts and gigs. I joined couchsurfing because I love meeting people from everywhere and hearing about their experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

Always try and improve the person you are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking for hosts at places where I'm traveling but my place(s) will be up for grabs when I get back to the US!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

By far the coolest was co-hosting a Swiss traveler who was in Manchester for a couple weeks. By the end of his trip, we'd made plans to see each other when he was visiting America and he also gave me a free box of cigars he didn't want!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Experienced pandemonia in Spain when they won the Euro's in 2008

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a certified Emergency Medical Technician in America so I know a bunch about life-saving skills if you're into that sort of thing. I have some pretty gruesome stories from my time volunteering for my College's Emergency Medical Service. And no, we don't do mouth-to-mouth anymore for CPR.

I also know a little bit too much about air travel hacking, so if you wanna save some money in the long run when you travel and get some really cool benefits, I can let you in on some insider secrets ;) On that note, I've also worked for an airplane company as an intern and gained a ton of knowledge about airplanes and the science behind them
