Overview
About Me
A high altitude trekker turned backpacker. Mountains always amaze me and I have done a couple of 16,000 feet treks in the Himalayas. I have traveled a many and backpacked a few states, covering 18 of the 29 states in India, each which has its own language and its own culture (not known to many).
I graduated as a Computer Science Engineer in 2013. I worked for four years to save up some money to travel and pursue an MBA. All my travels in this period was within India, exploring and experiencing the cultural melting pot! I joined my MBA program in 2017. I lost my best friend in a road accident in May 2018 and it shook me emotionally. I wanted to keep myself occupied and hence took the bold step of backpacking solo across South East Asia for 15 days, in June 2018. It was an enriching experience which made me more receptive, understanding and independent. However, I was not able to use CS during this trip due to improper planning and lack of clarity of using it.
I am currently in France until the end of December 2018 on a student exchange program. I wish to explore Europe combining my weekends with the 2/3 days offs that I usually have preceding them. I am usually a quiet person and when I am not in College, I love spending time in nature, with children, daydreaming or cooking. I am an aviation geek and also enjoy randomly spending time reading about them and plane spotting whenever possible.
I am an animal lover. I follow a vegetarian diet and I am also a teetotaler. And yes, I love chocolates and it gets me high! ;-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is an amazing platform to meet like minded people who I would have or else not come across. It is also wonderful to a city through the eyes of people who live there. No new city can be best explored in any other means.

Music, Movies, and Books
I loved reading "The Diary of a young girl" which was recommended by a friend. Whenever I read, I have an habit of getting into the protagonist's shoes. And it is this book, which made me have a deep connect with it.
When it comes to movies, history and comedy are my favorite genres. My favorite movie for a long time has been "Braveheart" and I do not see it changing anytime in the near future :-)
I have a strong association with Music and Art because of my mother who is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. As a kid, I learnt playing Harmonium for 6 years. However, I stopped playing it when I was about 15 and have since lost touch of it. I wish to re-learn playing Harmonium or much better a piano after I graduate next year!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Yet to do something amazing worth writing here.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach to cook South Indian food, and anything/everything to do with computers and gadgets. I am extremely spiritually (not religious!) oriented. I love deep conversations regarding life, Universe and everything in between the two. I can share ideas and habits to inculcate to remain positive in life :-)
I love learning new languages since I see it as a doorway to learn a new culture and also as an exercise to the mind. I speak the Indian languages of Tulu (my mother tongue; sadly not listed on CS), Kannada, Konkani (intermediate) and Hindi. As a hobby I have learnt till the A2 level of German. I am currently learning French, and the progress is painfully slow. I would like to resume learning German and dedicatedly learn French. I would love to learn from advanced speakers of German and French, both the languages.
