ABOUT ME

I am from India and have been living in France for the last 6 years. I was doing research in Robotics in a university. I took a year and a half off, sailed the Atlantic Ocean and traveled in Latin America starting from Mexico towards Argentina, exploring the rich culture and biodiversity of these wonderful countries. Now that I am back in France, I plan to explore some countries in Europe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy travelling, meeting people and sharing experiences and stories. I think Couchsurfing is a great platform to meet people from different cultures and to get to know them. I have had some great experiences and have made good friends through it and would like to continue to do so!

Interests

I generally love all kinds of art forms, especially photography.
Living in Austria got me hooked to hiking, cycling and rock climbing.
I used to own a Yamaha XJR1300 motorcycle and I loved doing road trips on it to visit not only the main cities but by stopping and staying in the villages because I believe that's where one can really learn about the culture, people and language of a country.
I love cooking and I make sure that in every country I live, I try to learn to cook the local dishes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost all kinds of music. Some of my favourite bands are: RHCP, Arctic monkeys, Buena vista social club, El cuarteto de nos, Jacob Collier, Sufjan Stevens, la vela puerca, alt-J, Ren, Bareto, Stromae, Bunbury, Soda stereo, Elefante, Alcest, Rishloo, Bon Entendeur, Manu Chao, AnnenMayKantereit, calle 13, Simon and Garfunkel, Gorillaz, Natalia Lafourcade, Loyle Carner, Gaël Faye, Tool, Fleet foxes, Katatonia, Radiohead, Toundra, Rodrigo y Gabriela and so on.

I watch every kind of movie and TV shows especially the ones directed by Chloe Zhao, Guy Ritchie, Quentin Tarantino, Darren Aronofsky, Martin McDonagh. My most favourite movies are: Victoria, Wind river, Blue jay, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Blindspotting and TV series are Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Love death and robots, Fleabag, Band of brothers.

I love to read. Some of my favourite authors are Virginia Woolf, Jon Krakauer, John Steinbeck, Jack London and Jorge Luis Borges and books Into the wild, Braiding sweetgrass, Into the forest, Fahrenheit 451, Dune, Harry Potter, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crossed the Atlantic Ocean on a sailing boat from Europe to the Caribbean, motorcycled all along the coast of Ireland for a month, bicycled from the north of France(Nantes) to Spain(San Sebastian), sold fresh fruit juice for a month in an Alpine French farm, did a road trip across Tuscany while sleeping in a church every night, did a motorcycle trip across Switzerland by camping in the wild, canoed 100kms in a hidden river for 4 days near Bordeaux, tried the wim-hof method during winter in a chilly cold lake of Austria every other day for 3 months and so on.

Teach, Learn, Share

Traveling and living in different countries has made me realize that sharing stories and experiences with the people I meet is one of the best ways to learn and grow. I will happily share all my adventures if you are interested and I will be excited to learn about yours.
