About Me

Well, I'm originally a small-town boy from India, and Europe has always held this sort of romantic promise for me. Now that I'm finally here, I plan to explore every inch of this beautiful continent and its beautiful people.

At the moment, I'm very interested in macroeconomics, especially international economics and trade. I love to read, and I write sometimes when I have some spare time. At some point in my life, I want to be able to devote a bit more time to my writing and maybe publish a book. I'm also very enthusiastic about history, art and philosophy, and I become very excited when I find people with whom I can debate over these! As you might have guessed, I'm also quite fond of my guitar, so it would be nice to have someone to jam or sing along with :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think discovering new people, new cultures and new ideas is by far the best form of education there is, and it makes you grow tremendously. There are so many things to learn and so many sensations to experience, and life is only so long. And I think it's also a wonderful way to find ideas to write about!

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, my all-time favourite book is (still) The Catcher in the Rye (Salinger), closely followed by One Hundred Years of Solitude (Marquez). And pretty much anything by Fitzgerald. Also like Hemingway (sometimes), Camus and Tolkein.

As for music, mostly old-school rock. Dylan is god, period. Beatles, Pink Floyd and Dire Straits are also fucking brilliant. More contemporary, say U2, Oasis, Bon Iver and Sigur Ros. But then, I think music is as much mood as melody, so it all depends on the phase.

Movies and TV shows, haven't watched many. Before Sunrise, Almost Famous, Manhattan, Into the Wild, In Bruges, LOTR and Thor Ragnarok (because it's craazy!). As for TV shows, the Chandler show, the Barney show and the one with the dragons.

Teach, Learn, Share

A song on the guitar? A few choice Hindi cuss words?
And I'd like to learn pretty much anything you have to offer :) It's always nice to learn new things!
As for sharing, I don't have much, would you be interested in a warm blanket and a hot mug of coffee? And maybe we do the Netflix and the chill ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well I could bring you a book, or chocolates, or any special requests :) Maybe cook you some Kadhai chicken or Palak paneer?
