About Me

I'm originally from India and have been living in the United States for 7 years now. I'm currently working as a Software Engineer (yeah, very original), though I try my best not to limit myself to my job. My other activities include writing (I write on issues pertaining to politics and religion) and travelling.
Travelling provides me with an opportunity to meet people from different walks of life, something that broadens my own horizons in terms of better understanding diverging perspectives, which I factor in my writing while attempting to maintain objectivity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There is so much we can learn from each other and nobody can have too many friends, so here I am! From what I've read, it comes across as an amazing concept and something that gels well with my own philosophy of doing good in whichever way I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books and can't stop myself from buying them if I am inside a bookshop, though I'm left with little time at the end of the day to do justice to the hugh stack of unread books lying on my bookshelf.

Shows: Family Guy, The Big Bang Theory, Prison Break, Californication, Air Crash Investigations, How to Get Away with Murder.
Does news count? Add BBC, Fox, CNN and bunch of other news websites and newspapers to the list.
Movies: The Shawshank Redemption, My Cousin Vinny and others!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Did a road trip from the east coast (Providence, RI) to the west coast (San Francisco, CA) of the United States and back in 2013 -- 8000 miles (around 13000 kms.) in 11 days. Was severely sleep deprived at the end of it all but had some really amazing, scary, spooky and funny experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

There is no limit to how much we can learn from each other. Learning is a two way street: it doesn't entirely depend on how much we want to share, but also on how much we are willing to open our minds in order to learn from the other person. To that effect, a few things that come to mind in the context of this section are:
Teach: Healthy cuisine that is tasty too, Hindi (language)
Learn: I'm open to learning anything and everything from my host(s)
Share: Perspectives, experiences, advice (solicited, of course). I've never been short on stories to share :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Perspectives, stories and experiences: I have tons of them.
Healthy eating and a few recipes that I 'invented' while being on my weight loss journey.
Fun fact: I've been on the same diet (for breakfast, lunch and dinner) for nearly 5 years now :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
