I was born and raised in the city but I am never really bound by it.
I an avid hiker and have an extensive knowledge of the trails in and around my state which I am more than willing to share. The monsoons are my most favorite time of the year.I am mostly tucked away in a non-descript corner pouring over the pages of Hemingway beside a hot cup of coffee.I deeply enjoy long conversations.I love words and am captivated by common sentences that are made through uncommon words.

I love satire and I am moved by art whether it is Banksy or Vivaldi.I enjoy Theatre and I would be deeply hurt if you spelled it 'Theater' :D

I am constantly yearning to make that trip to Iceland and swim in the fjords of Norway.I am more alive in the mountains than anywhere else.I am part-time freelance Graphic Designer and an extremely amateur Photographer (very amateurish).

I am in awe of creativity and people's zest for life excites me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see places through my eyes and through the eyes of people who live there as well.

I have lived in my city since the day I was born.I know the most interesting places for food ,fun and frolic and these are not the same places you'd find on a guidebook.I know the stories of the city,her forgotten people and her secrets .I believe every place on earth is the same way , there is a certain place on a mountain from where the sunset is the most beautiful, a certain bookshop that is a world within itself, a certain pub where people put away their phones and actually listen when music is made .I want to experience these places and who better than someone who lives there that can be my map and compass.

Interests

I enjoy reading.I believe books deserve their respect and as a result I completely abhor reading in transit.A book must always be experienced and devoured in its own time.

I love to cycle.I'd prefer cycling to taking the bus. I firmly believe that no distance is too far if you have a bicycle and some strong legs.

I have dabbled in Calligraphy and I am mesmerized every time I see a well executed specimen of hand-lettering.

I enjoy watching plays more than watching movies. There is something visceral about Theater.It is very raw and intense.A play that manages to tap into your pulse is , in my view , the most surreal experience of art.

I am into music.I am not bound by a genre.My musical interests are like driftwood on an ocean,they dont have a particular destination ,they constantly change their direction.I like Kodaline,Mozart, Mumford & sons, Linkin park ,Johnny Cash ,The Script ,Revolverheld,2Cellos,Ludovico Einaudi,Florence + The Machine and several others.

Some of the movies I really like are Requiem for a dream,500 day of Summer,Birdman, The Dark Knight,Before Sunset,The lord of the rings trilogy and The secret life of Walter Mitty.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked to the Annapurna Base Camp in 2014.It was the longest vacation that I had taken till then.It was completely immersive experience for me.There is something about those mountains, they break you and build you anew.

The hike back from Mt Annapurna was very gut wrenching.I felt physical pain walking away from there.It felt like I fell in love and she didnt.
