About Me

I grew up in a variety of countries but spent most of my life in Texas before moving to Stanford for school and now work. My friends describe me as fun and adventerous, but also meticulous and responsible. I'm constantly looking for new things to learn, people to meet, and fun things to do.

I'd say my sense of adventure also stems from the same place as my inquisitiveness. I'm a very intellectually curious person and love learning more about everything - whether that be through traveling around the world, reading books, watching nature videos, or discussing social issues with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people while traveling and would love to get an exposure to local cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
World War Z:
Surprisingly, this book has no overlap whatsoever with the movie. Instead, it is an extremely well written zombie thriller. This book ties together so many aspects of current events, geopolitics, and human nature into a fast-paced engaging story that's written as a series of interviews with a diversity of people.
Series of Unfortunate Events:
I love the tongue-in-cheek style this book is written in. It's a kids book - but the resilience it shows of the 3 orphans dealing with the "series of unfortunate events" they face and surviving is amazing.

Movies:
The Truman Show:
I love this Jim Carrey classic as I think his character in the movie depicts the sense of curiosity and thirst for exploration I find meaningful in my own life.

Music:
Chillstep:
few people know about this genre or share my taste in music in this, but this is my jam. This music is a combination of the energy of dubstep and the easy of listening of chillout music. Hence the name 'Chillstep'.

Food:
I really enjoy Indian and Mexican food
In the past year, I have also gotten into learning about fine chocolate. I want to overtime become a connoisseur of some item and out of wine, beer, cheese, coffee, and chocolate, I choose chocolate.
