Overview
About Me
I'm a language lover and a scientist working in the UK government. I grew up in London and have a big family who travel quite a lot. This year I'm attempting to do more solo travel (I usually travel with my boyfriend or sister) to build up my language skills, which is my new year's resolution!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really want to develop my language skills on short trips away. I studied French in high school and Mandarin at university but both to a basic level. I have lived and worked in Paris and Beijing for summers but find that people only speak to you in English. I would love to become fluent but don't find group classes or tutoring immersive enough to improve my skills. I want to stay with a few hosts who will be able to practice speaking these languages with me and show me some of their local sights.
