About Me

Hi! My name is Abi (short for Abigail). I was born in Canada, and raised mostly in California. I loved in Brooklyn, where I worked for a travel company called Atlas Obscura, but 9 months ago I quit my job to freelance and have been traveling since then. I loved in Serbia for three months, Japan for one, and Mexico City for two.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My favorite thing about travel is meeting people in new places. Couchsurfing is a great way to break outside the cultural bubble that hostels and major tourist areas can create.

Music, Movies, and Books

Instead of trying to list all my favorite books here, I'm just going to put a link to my Goodreads account: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/20443873-abi-inman

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took a road trip around the Balkans to see the old Yugoslavian monuments, or spomenici, scattered throughout the countryside of Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia. They're massive poured concrete sculptures, usually in abstract shapes, to commemorate major sites of the fight against fascism in the area. They're beautiful, emotional, complicated structures, many of which have become somewhat forgotten as political climates shifted in the area. It was one of the most fascinating things I've ever gotten to do.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Guatemala, Italy, Japan, Malta, Mexico, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In
