Overview
About Me
I originally came to Morocco in 2015 for a student exchange and research, and decided to continue my research (in divorce law, legal custody, and child support) and move back after graduating from undergrad in 2016. I have been living in Morocco consistently since August 2016, mainly between Rabat and Casablanca, although I was also in the old medina of Fes for about 3 months.
During the last year, I've been trying out different fields of work, from labor organizing to journalism, and I'm currently writing, teaching, and trying to soak up as much as possible of Morocco's fabulous language landscape.
Looking for curious minds to gab and wax lyrical, minus the racist, cishetnorm, patriarchal bullshit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
People make the place. Travel without connections between people is too empty and sad. Let's avoid all that solitary angst and have some fun.
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I'm hosting: can offer a comfortable couch, puppy cuddles, fun facts about the history of Rabat/Morocco and gossip about the latest political goings-on cultural happenings in the area. Let's make tagine together and listen to some gnaoua.
When I'm hosted: open ears, helpful hands, plentiful laughs. Also, I'm always looking for running /capeoira/HIIT/let's be active and play buddies

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Made a passable cake feat. dark chocolate ganache + peppermint infused whipped cream as seen on the cover of Bon Appétit
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you: how to stand on your head/improve your flexibility with a yoga flow, all the best/cheapest places to eat around Rabat without getting sick, marie kondo folding techniques to zen your life/underwear drawer
Let's talk languages and music and folk tales and djinn, your favorite popcorn seasonings/granola recipe. We can gripe about the state of the world and then manifest a better future and seal it off with a tarot session.
Let's get outside and hike and bike and climb! I love gardens and getting my hands dirty.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have the stamina and patience to endure some of the more grueling aspects of travel and the short-term memory (naivete?) to focus on the miraculous moments that come about as a result. Yalla, I'm in for the ride (and will bring random facts from all the latest podcasts to fill the time)!
