Overview
About Me
I love traveling more than anything. I love to see how people live and to try to understand what is important to them. When I travel, I don't necessarily need an agenda. I can spend an afternoon sitting and watching people or walking aimlessly through a small town.
I read voraciously and am totally dependent on my Kindle. I'm also a champion sleeper -- light & noise don't bother me.
I've got a great sense of humor. I make friends quickly.
I have a great group of friends in Dallas and more friends around the country & the world. I love hanging out with friends, but I'm never afraid to venture out on my own. I travel alone most of the time, meeting people along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hotels are boring to me. When I travel, I want to meet local people and be in a real neighborhood.
I also love meeting new people from all over the world. Dallas doesn't have a lot of tourist attractions, but I'm happy to show visitors some of my favorite local hang outs!
Interests
Meeting new people. Travel. Reading. Writing. Hiking. Startups. Eating local foods. People watching. Great conversation. Cats. Interior design. Watching the circus that is the US presidential election cycle.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm such a SciFi geek. Star Wars is my favorite movie (Episode IV, of course). The Empire Strikes Back was arguably a better movie, but Star Wars is like a first true love -- nothing else quite compares.
Dune is my favorite book series. I'm currently obsessed with Hugh Howey. Actually, let me restate that -- I'm currently frustrated that Hugh Howey isn't writing fast enough to keep up with my reading speed. ;)
I love most forms of rock -- from classic to indie. I like most forms of music, with the exception of most Country & Western.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been to North Korea. And lived to tell the tale. Even snapped a few photos. And while in Pyongyang, I jumped off the 10m diving platform at the Changgwang Health and Recreation Complex -- twice.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to share my neighborhood and to share a meal or a drink with friends new & old. I'm also a fan of pub trivia and would love to have CS travelers join my friends and I for a night of fun competition!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a great conversationalist. I love to swap travel stories -- any kind of story, really.
I joined CS to meet people & have unique local experiences, not to save money. So while I'm somewhat infamous for my lack of culinary skills (honestly, it's more a lack of drive), I'm happy to treat my hosts to a nice meal, or a ticket to a local attraction, or both!
