One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
volunteered for ~6 months as a student-attorney at a self help center for individuals dealing with family-law related issues, (often victims of domestic abuse, dirty divorces, TRO, child custody battles, etc.) and who couldn’t afford to hire legal counsel. i listened to victims describe their situation, often heart breaking, and would educate them on the relevant law, what their legal rights are, what their legal options are for recourse, helped them file pleadings, etc. it the experience was extremely difficult yet left me with invaluable lessons & skills. over the months, i helped many pro se victims stay safe from abusive partners, be united with their children, etc.
