I would prefer to stay where I can meet more local people as I always find that I get the most out of that trip and it feels a lot more authentic compared to hotel stays that I've been on where from city to city, everything feels the same. I like to exchange stories with people and generally just get to know about their interests - especially about any travels or where they live/have lived.
