Overview
About Me
Currently 6 months in to a year long research fellowship, studying the role of creative practices in community building. Dedicated to and involved in liberation movements, and dreaming of a Free Palestine. I love studying, with my focus in Queer Futures and Decolonial Practices. I dance, paint, and write, but am constantly trying to explore new creative avenues. I love discussion and storytelling.
I grew up in Idaho in the United States, surrounded by mountains and rivers. Being outside is incredibly important to me, and I spend a lot of my free time in parks. I am vegetarian and enjoy cooking when I have time — especially sharing a meal with someone. I am openly queer and this is important to my politics and my art. I’ve lived in India, France, and the UK, and am still very close with my host families there. I am sociable and extroverted, though I also love alone time and have no trouble going to events by myself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I received a grant to spend the next year traveling the world and making art! I will be living in various countries around the world, learning different creative practices (like drumming, dancing, crafts, zines, ceramics, ect). An important part of my research is direct contact with people living in the communities I am visiting, so couchsurfer seems like a perfect combination of living as an artist (on a budget) and meeting beautiful, exciting people!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love indie rock, folk music, funk, and jazz. Indigo de Souza is my favorite artist right now! I read a lot of poetry, and Richard Siken and Ocean Vuong are my favorites at the moment. “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” is easily at the top of my list. I’m not a huge movie person, but I love Ratatouille, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Portrait of a Lady on Fire.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I founded a creative collective in college that provided art supplies and community gatherings to other students! We held anonymous workshops and published a beautiful piece of work in the end.
I also trekked Mount Annapurna in Nepal this spring, which was an absolutely incredible experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a degree in French, though I am still learning the intricacies of the language! I am beginning to learn Portuguese and Spanish. I would love to both teach and learn more! I worked as a mindfulness intern for four years, and can lead meditations, workshops, and guided movement sessions. I can also teach English and writing, as well as poetry.
I always travel with art supplies and books, and would love to share these/make something together!
I would love love to learn any art of any kind! I play some drums and a little guitar, but would love to jam with other musicians or learn new instruments! Writing, clay, acting, mosaic, painting, sculpture, dance — anything!!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share art, books, and music! I would also love to cook you a meal or help care for plants/gardens. I can help clean/care for space or even children!
