ABOUT ME

They would say I'm not as quiet as I seem at first! That I surprise them with totally unexpected witty comments that make them die laughing. Some say I've become too "Chinesey" since living in China.

I'm pretty fluent in Mandarin now. It's always fun to hear people talking about whether I'm an English teacher on the public bus and surprise them by saying something to them. :)

Interests

There's nothing like being a midwife, welcoming new life into the world and supporting the new family! I really enjoy getting to know people in different countries as I learn their language.

I left home when I was 21 years old and have lived in Asia (China & 2 very different places in the Philippines) for 8 years now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was privileged to live with about 9 other local and foreign midwives above Abundant Grace Maternity Center in Tabuk, Kalinga on Northern Luzon in the Philippines for a year. Cultural differences and limited space made it challenging at first, but I grew to love those strong midwife sisters, even their crazy over-the-top teasing! It was so neat to see the main midwife's accurate intuition during labor and birth.
