About Me
ABOUT ME
I live in the moment. I love spontaneity and the moment of fearful anticipation that comes with it. I can be really energetic, almost hyperactively enthusiastic. I like to think I keep my sense of wonder of the world and my experiences in it.
I love hearing from people about their experiences, and learning from them, especially about things that are unfamiliar to me. My best friends know that I will stand for the things that I am passionate about.
PHILOSOPHY
Love, enjoy and honour God. Love people. Be alive!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only just been introduced to Couchsurfing! Kind of nervous, but really excited.
Interests
I am interested in people in general. When I travel, I love discovering the history of a place, and the experience of just being there, but more than that I like meeting different people, and experiencing a city through the life stories and personalities that make it up. Just in day-to-day life, I treasure the superficial and mutual presence of strangers, the sometimes surprising interactions, the pieces of a personality that friends and acquaintances share with me, and that wonderful sense of companionship that is friendship. I am interested in human characters and relationships, both academically and emotionally.
I love art. I'm not so good at creative expression, but I certainly do appreciate it! I love listening to live music, watching performances-dance, theatre, on the streets-watching people paint. I love the human experience and perspective involved. I can spend hours looking at paintings, admiring textures, colours and light from different angles. I want to learn to sculpt.
I like open (outdoor) spaces, greenery, flowers, cliffs. I love both the quiet sweetness and the majestic awesomeness of nature. I love scenery, but perhaps because I am a poor photographer, photography does not move me as much. It is not visceral enough for me. Still I admire photographers for their unique and quick eye for beautiful moments. My sense of appreciation is rather duller, so I like to slowly savour what I see, hear, smell, touch and feel.
I like kids and animals!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Frankly I have done much travelling. This is my first time truly travelling alone-before I would at least travel with friends or family. I would love for the chance to discover my own awe-inspiring experiences of the world.
Still, there are many moments whose memories remain exhilarating. Sitting on the bow of a boat, advancing into the open sea, watching the water disappear under my feet and still more approach, being mesmerised by the vast movement of the ocean. Sailing in a dinghy learning to interact with the wind and the current. Standing on a cliff looking down into a valley. Lying in an open field, and in beds of hay in a bumpy truck. Looking up into a pitch-black sky and discovering that every inch reveals a star. Finding two stars and a crescent moon form a smiley face as we ride home on top of bags of rice-not secured to the truck and which could tumble off anytime, with us on them. Harvesting rice. Gathering rice as the sun sets. Riding pillion on a motorcycle. Rollercoasters. Accomplishing tricks on rollerblades (that I can no longer perform!). Watching my friends draw or paint or sing and play the guitar.
... I may not yet have seen much the world. My worldview is still really naive, and the abovementioned moments might seem small and ordinary. But through and in them, I've accumulated a wealth of simple and wondrous experiences and amazing memories. Looking forward to so much more!
