About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To find happiness in every moment, loving the earth with each footprint.
ABOUT US
We love being outside. The reason we are taking a leap and packing our bags is to find a place to be ourselves and form a beautiful community. The best people are couchsurfers! We want to live genuinely, loving what we do and the people we interact with.
PHILOSOPHY
To live simply, always taking time to watch the red and purple colors as the sun sets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfing with plans to host once we settle into our new home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE.
Abby took a solo roadtrip last year and stayed with 2 outstanding women - best experience ever! Immediate, forever friends were made and we've remained in frequent touch since.
Interests
We love being outside. Like every couchsurfer on here, travel is a constant dream and, at times, a reality. Jim worked as a guest services manager in the #1 Wisconsin hospital for several years. He originally went to school for art history and is now beginning to learn carpentry. Abby went to school for agriculture, has worked on several sustainably-focused farms and is now entertaining the idea of starting a specialty vegetable farm. A dream for the moment. :)

Music, Movies, and Books
We love movies. We watch Braveheart too frequently and love it every time. Jim is a huge Seinfield fan, which if you are too, you'll notice immediately.
Music apps have really helped us find some great stuff. It's just so cool how it is all at our fingertips. We dig just about anything and have a true love for live, local styles. A few bands we enjoy are Quinn XCII, John Hiatt, Nathaniel Rateliff, The Steeldrivers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and the list goes on. :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moved in with a guy (Jim) I met through Craigslist and fell in love. We just got married in September (8 years later!) and now plan to pack up our lives and find a new home.
Teach, Learn, Share
Both my education and places I've worked have taught me a lot about our food system, sustainability, and getting my hands dirty growing food. I could talk for hours about any of that. If that isn't your schtick, my husband and I love talking with people about everything. We want to hear about you and your home!
What I Can Share with Hosts
We offer good conversations, lots of puns, and a genuine interest in learning more about the people we interact with.
