About Me

I'm a second year university student, at the University of Leeds. I've always enjoyed travelling and have been to: Zambia, Thailand, Australia, USA, and many places around Europe.

I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends, and I absolutely love hearing other people's stories. I am very open-minded, a master procrastinator (especially when it comes to sitting down and doing uni work), and spontaneous. Routines are boring and I tend to avoid them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel a lot, usually all summer, with many little trips in between. Money is a luxury when travelling and I would much rather host people and be hosted so that money can be spent on experiences rather than a place to sleep.

Interests

Music, listening and playing piano (not terribly well), reading, socialising, travelling (obviously), learning new things, conversations and pubs, extreme sports, sports. So many interests and still so many to discover.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS AND POETRY:
I read too many books to have a favourite, but I'm sure there are a few books that have stayed with me. If I were forced to namedrop a selection of authors - Markus Zusak, Ayn Rand, Cormac McCarthy, James Joyce.

Poetry wise, my tastes are very varied: Charles Bukowski; Philip Larkin; Carol Ann Duffy; Elizabeth Bishop.

MOVIES:
I dislike movies without a decent plot and far too much gore.

MUSIC:
I'm not particularly picky. I enjoy variation although I've never managed to appreciate screamo and heavy metal. Music completely depends on my mood and environment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taught English to children and adults in Zambia, Africa. Bungee jumped over Victoria Falls. Sky dived in Cairns. Scuba Dived in Thailand. Road trip on the Pacific Coast highway, USA.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH:
I can teach English, editing and writing. If you were desperate for something to learn I can knit, french braid, and ballroom dance.

LEARN:
I love cooking and would love to learn more about other cuisines, and be taught by a local (so much better than the current method of youtube videos).
Learning Spanish, I'm spending a year in Malaga from September so hopefully I'll be fluent this time next year.

SHARE:
Experiences, music, literature. Hopefully laughs, fun, and a few beers.
