I have a pretty laid back persona and i love to chat about culture driven topics... music, movies, sports ect. i am an artist and a musician. i am old school in ways ... still totally into nintendo and i am hip ( i write music on an ipad ) i allow myself to be inspired and always am ready to do things on a whim. i love nature. i love the city life. i am an open book and i keep an open mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well i am New. My profile was created june 1st 2012. so .... i hope to have this section filled out within the year but for now just looking to meet people who would be kind enough to show me around there city/town and perhaps lend me a place to crash after a show:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I got to play the show with a great band from Nashville Tennessee called Paper Lantern. After the show i had the pleasure of hosting them. great people. new friends.

Interests

hmmm..... i make music. its my life. what kind???? i dont know, i just do what i know. inspired music i guess. what i listen to is all over the place.... so is what i write. i put all of my effort into what i feel is important: the words. the sounds. the ideas. then i let structure build itself.
i also produce all my own tunes. as much as playing and writing my music is important to me so is producing it! as a producer i love to make something with nothing. i dont have much gear but im all about DIY. every record is a stamp in time.
i also perform. my studio is portable and becomes my road gear. i perform many different ways but try not to complicate things to much.

thats about it.... this will always be what i do. my dream is to be able to survive on my music but, until then ill keep working dead end jobs to support it myself. im sure if i stay humble, keep an open mind, and focus on whats in front of me, doors will open.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

"The Times They Are A-Changin"
I had been playing ... tinkering around with a guitar for about a year or so. Nothing serious just messing around with beatles and nirvana tunes. At the time i was into collecting records. Got a call from a friend who told me he had his dads' "Dylan" records that he wanted to sell. said there were about 20 records and he would let me have them for 20 bucks. So i bought them. The first record i put on would forever change my outlook on this music thing. "The Times They Are A-Changin" I put it on first mostly because of the picture on the front. I just remember sitting down the entire time the record played watching the record spin. I was so taken by the genuineness and outspokenness of the entire record that all i could do was watch it go around. Dylan said exactly what he felt. He sang plain and honestly. Not at all worried about how people would react. He just sang. After the record ended I decided I wanted to write and record music for the rest of my life. Its been 8 years since then and on my newest record you can hear my 100th recorded song.

Manhattan Sidewalks
I went to New York City for the first time last year. Not only was it exciting because I was going to the Big Apple but, i was playing in Manhattan that night.I arrived at Penn Station on a rainy day and it was an amazing moment walking up the steps out of the train station and feeling like i walked right into a movie. It was so surreal. I just stood for a moment and looked around and just took it all in. I had worked extremely hard to get to a point where i could get booked to play gigs outside of my home state and it started on the biggest stage out there. Which leads me to my next "Amazing Moment"

On the Fly
my next amazing moment has not happened yet but, its going to very soon. I can feel it. I want to go "on tour" indefinitely. I want to live on the road and play music for people every night, writing as i travel. "a musical voyager whos home is the road." I hope someday it will take me around the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

all i really know is music. I would absolutely love to share what i know with people. I feel I canbe a good teacher so... if you have a guitar kicking around and have been wanting to learn how to use it I am here to help.
