ABOUT ME
I am an architect, writer, theater director and university professor. I traveled quite extensively in my 20s, all through the Middle East, Latin America, Europe, Russia.... It was a major part of my life. Now I'm pretty involved in my life here in the US, though I end up traveling back and forth from New York to California quite a bit for my experimental performance company, Odyssey Works. We do crazy things! Weekend-long performances, months long performances, performances involving hundreds of people creating experiences for just one person! I rarely take a vacation, as it were, but when I do travel I am wont to explore the forward edges of what the artists are doing in any city or country.
I believe in art. I believe in the possibility of people putting their heads together and expanding what is possible in the world. Sometimes I give lectures about this at universities and museums. Here is one https://vimeo.com/66426996
PHILOSOPHY
Do no harm.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't travel as much as I used to, but I mostly surf, as I don't, as yet, have room to host. I will soon.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couchsurfed a bit in the US and Canada. And it was always a wonderful experience. If this had been around fifteen years ago I'd have been the first to sign up.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I sailed the Amazon. I lived with a tribe of Shuar in the Amazon when I was in my mid-twenties. I trained as a whirling dervish. I interviewed Stevie Wonder....
