I'm Aby, Textile Designer. I travel with Fede, my partner. He is a visual artist and art therapist. We are argentine, recently married, we seek to live from what we love, that is design and art, while traveling the world, one little town at a time.

We have used Couchsurfing during a trip to Europe in 2016 and 2017. We did volunteer work through HelpX, mainly in France. We both enjoy drawing, singing, making music, dancing tango together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Mainly to open up to new friends, share views, exchange experiences, give a hand on whatever is needed, talk through and expect nothing. CS is something one will never be able to buy, fortunately: meeting new, interesting and different people in new places.

Interests

Arts: Miró, Turner, Luis Felipe Noé, Schiele, Ai Wei Wei, Beuys,Hockney, abramovic, Matisse, Klimt, Duchamp, Loutrec, Rothko and more. We visit art museums first of all when arriving to a new place.

Theatre: It is hard to see theatre outside buenos aires but really enjoyed a contemporary version of Romeo and Juliette at the Globe. We enjoy very much independent theatre productions.

One reason we like to travel is to get to know new cities with personality, like Berlin. We love Berlin and Paris' architecture.

Illustration and Graphic Design is my thing (Aby) so I am always looking at new things online, and Fede kinda does the same on painting. We both love taking photographs, we are constantly learning and composing.

We are nature people, we go camping, hiking, skiing, biking, kayak, and enjoy recycling and learning about more ecological ways of living. Fede does tai chi.

Aby knits, weaves, embroiders, prints, screenprints, sews and likes learning new languages.

Fede knows about how to work wood and other materials, gardening and plants, electricity and general house work. A good handyman.

We like going to events, festivals, carnavals, parties, etc. related to traditions or art, design, or music!

Music, Movies, and Books

We love Music, we are very diverse. between the two of us, we cover every style.. Fede is more classical though and Aby is more Rock, but we share the space so we share the music. We enjoy going to concerts and dancing. We dance tango and love dancing cumbia.

We like to see documentary films or independent productions from around the world, new stuff. Classics too but no blockbusters.

I like reading novels and short stories. Fede is more into political, art and culture-related essays.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving the whole ring road in Iceland has been, for now, the most out-of-this-world thing we did as a couple.

Doing grape picking in the south of france was memorable.

Doing HelpX several months in a row was an incredibly rich experience.

But traveling and surviving in Europe for a whole year with little to no money has been quite an experience. only possible because of this kind of platforms.
